How to make your Triathlon Training almost effortless while crushing your competitors

Triathlon training is 95% of the time a very pleasant experience and typically never should include any kind of pain. About 5% - 10 % of the time you'll leave this comfort-zone of "collecting" miles and focus on increasing your speed by doing more intense training units. Here you can read more about how to structure and write a proper training plan and later on convert it into a training program.

There is no need for torturing your body or high-pressure training. If you follow the simple training guidelines outlined for you on the following sites you'll never feel exhausted and more importantly you'll have less injuries than most of your training partners how don't know about this. And therefore you'll be able to spend more time on the track with your triathlon training instead of sitting at home and watch your fellows doing their training sessions outside through your window.

When you think of your training always try to keep in mind the metaphor of cooking a soup. While there (hopefully) is some spice inside of your soup and maybe some vegetable or meat still most of the volume consists of water, right?

Try to keep it like this with your training. Like with your soup you want to start gathering some water and boil it before you insert the other ingredients. Work on your basic endurance by doing slow units of cycling, swimming or running. Most triathletes miss the boat here. They immediately want to start with the "good stuff" - becoming fast, becoming a triathlon champ overnight, a celebrity. If you want to learn the piano, do you invite guests for your first concert next week?

No, it will probably take you one year before you can even play most of your stuff fluently and consider yourself as a player with rather pretty basic skills. Now why do most people who start with this fantastic sport think that they will hit a home run by giving themselves 8 weeks of lead time in preparation for their first triathlon venture? Build your shape slowly and consistently and you will succeed. I guarantee you. No matter what your personal training goal might look like.

In the meantime you can better your understanding of basic and more advanced training principles. And we are not only talking about endurance training. If you want to learn more about triathlon weight training then simply click here.
